This week I had an adventure in dyeing medium/heavy weight fabric. I had a client who was looking for shibori dyed fabric in Indigo blue to upholster the backs of a retro metal framed type chair.

The first step was to determine what fabric would be suitable for this project. So, I consulted with the experts at Dharma Trading Company. I settled on experimenting with two fabrics of 10 oz weight - a cotton duck and a Bull Denim in natural.

After washing, ironing, dyeing, washing and ironing some more my client and I agreed that the Bull Denim from Dharma Trading Co. was the fabric to use.

She is excited with the  fabric. I am excited to see how she used it.

NEXT Blog - I talk about dyeing large, heavy pieces of fabric for use in Home decor projects.
